ষাটের দশকে পাকিস্তান সরকার এবং দাতা সংস্থা ইউসএইড (USAID) এর সহায়তায় শুরু হয় কর্ণফুলী নদীতে বাঁধ দিয়ে একটি সমন্বিত প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে জলবিদ্যুৎ, বন্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণ, সেচকাজ এবং ড্রেনেজ সুবিধা পাওয়া যাবে। কাপ্তাই লেক নির্মাণে প্রায় ১৮ হাজার মানুষের ঘরবাড়ি বিলুপ্ত হয়েছে, প্রায় ১ লক্ষ মানুষকে তাদের আবাসভূমি থেকে সরে যেতে হয়েছে, যার মধ্যে ৭০ শতাংশই চাকমা জনপদের মানুষজন। বিস্তারিত জানতে সম্পূর্ণ ভিডিওটি দেখুন।
